Hypnotic Land Cartridge - packaging?

Post by prixon » Wed Apr 26, 2006 8:05 pm

Hello

Has anyone actually got the physical Hypnotic Land cartridge as sold by Page 6 Software? I think it was packaged in a sort of a bubble pack with a simple printed paper inlay, as I recall (had one years ago and stupidly sold it for a few quid!).
I just want to get hold of a scan of the packaging (or a photo or whatever) if possible .... can anyone help?

Thanks,
Paul

Do you mean this cart: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.p ... ON_ID=2543?

I wasn't aware that Page 6 had sold it, and I must confess that I've never seen the packaging, although the cart itself is the same shape as Conquest of the Crown, also by Lindasoft.

This is interesting. Do you have any more information about it (adverts, receipts, anything)?

Hypnotic Land Cartridge - packaging?

Yes, that's the one. The cartridge shape indeed looks familiar.
I wrote a review for Page 6 /NAU in issue 60 and it was advertised in the same issue;

Here's the ad:

I think this one was sold with cardboard box and some playing cards.

@prixon: I have never seen or heard of a box for Hypnotic Land.

I'm not aware of a box either but seem to recall the bubble pack you mention...

Thanks for the article, that's very cool.

If the cart was only sold via Page 6, that would account for the absence of typical retail packaging. I've only ever seen these carts loose.

As André says, Conquest of the Crown had a box and a range of paraphernalia inculded too.

It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who originally bought a copy from the magazine.

I have reviewed this game for the Dutch "Pokey" Magazine. If I remember well, it was the original lindasoft version. I am not sure about the playing cards, I thought that belongs to Conquest of the crown.

But I know a friend who is in possession of the game, I will take a photo of the packaging and place it here.

Never thought of finding Paul Rixon still in 8-bit atari's :D

I think I have never met you. I did meet Les several times when we went to Stafford with ANG Software several times.

But, and I have this in my own collection (I just discovered this site) I saw that you are missing one Lindasoft title. It is called 'Il papiro della pace'. This is a double disk title in a printed envelope.

I will also take a picture of this title.

Hi Fred,

Great input 8)

We're a bit behind schedule on certain things but all the precious information you are providing will find its way in our database soon as we really want to make it as accurate as possible.

I checked your collection some time ago and noticed some rare titles. Is there any way you could dump the missing Lindasoft game so it can be preserved? Is there any chance you could make CAS images of some of your tape games as well so they could also be properly archived?

Thanks for all your instructive comments, your help is appreciated!

Hi,

If I will find the time I will try to make some dumps.

I will try to examine my collection list and yours to see which titles are not present on atarimania.

Here some pictures of il papiro della pace. These are taken with my mobile phone in a hurry, I will make scans of the package soon.

And have you ever heard of an American company called Change in heat? They made the game "Pondering about Max's" in 1990. I think it is one of the best packaged games you have ever seen. A Full color booklet like a small LP album in a black box. Even de disk itself is printed. I will also make some scans of it, because these pictures do not let you see the nice artwork.
