Anyone who was interested in this query may like to know - that I have started on writing some more demos? I am using the PC program g2f which will load any old Atari graphic file - display it, and it has a zoom mode available so as to easily pinpoint pixels - which is what I wanted. Also Rambrandt ...

Hacking request - for anyone?
I would like MicroPainter hacked, so that the screen coordinates of the cursor be viewed on screen in the magnify mode - I wish to load in a picture, and then manually be able to get the x, y coordinates which I can then use in a simple BASIC program to recreate (ie. redraw) the picture. I did this ...

Tried on Dreamcast
I did try the available Atari 8-bit emulator for the Dreamcast, with the keyboard, and it did seem to work well.
I have tried some emulators for the XBox - the Mame ones, and they seemed to work fine. That was some years ago...

About what drawing program has this?
I need a drawing program, that gives the x and y coordinates of the cursor, when you are in magnified mode. I think "AtariArtist" does this or the Light Pen, but of course these do not work with the emulators. I wonder if anyone can recall any program providing this feature? I want to load an existi...

Difference between PAL and NTSC
I'm not sure if I have read everything about this, in this thread or not - but from what I know, this is probably something not generally known. Because of the 50Hz/60Hz cycle difference, this automatically means that NTSC running at 50 cycles, is running faster than PAL at 60 cycles and when you se...

The Level Editor is Fontbyter
Fontbyter from Compute! was used to design (put together) the screens, ie. levels with. While a custom level editor would be nice - Fontbyter can be used again to design new levels for HawkQuest. An Antic Character Editor (from Byte?) is used to design custom character sets with, ie. a redefined cha...

Hi Andre - re: HawkQuest
Thank you for your comments. The artwork/advertising for the disk cover/etc was of course done by Red Rat. I don't know who did the artwork for them? I did all the graphics within the game. Andrew did all the graphics programming, so High Score screens, and all graphics animation is usually by him. ...

Waited a while for the Atari 800 to drop in price...
Finally bought one in Hammersmith, London with 1010 recorder. Star Raiders, Shamus and Race in Space. And MatchRacers? The Apple II was never a consideration, the C64 nowhere to be seen at this time, and no Spectrum. After seeing Star Raiders going, what other computer can even compare? It is a bit ...

Pop Pacman in, and see, rather listen to the black screen?
Something else to try? Is to insert the Pacman cart in, and see/listen to whether you can hear the game going, if you tuned into a black screen? The Pacman game is very distinctive with it's sounds, when it plays in demo mode. At least I think it does? You can always keep on pressing START... Defend...

Just thinking about the problem mentioned...
Something to keep in mind, that if you have a Atari 400 with no cart present, it should display the MEMO PAD blue screen, once you tuned your TV in, properly. But I'll guess that past a certain time limit, the blue screen would cycle to various colours? ie. the background colour blue will? I'm only ...

Want to design your own levels/graphics for 'HawkQuest'???
I am making available the information, so that keen enough players can design their own levels (and graphics) for 'HawkQuest'. I just wonder if there is the interest out there to do so? If you would check out this HawkQuest site, and it's various pages, you'll get some idea of the various levels pre...
